DLFF-087, Nature Park Nagelfluhkette

January 14th & 15th 2015

Rig: KX3, 10W, 7200 mAh AGM, Palm Pico Paddle

Ant: dipole for 20m/ J- pole for 17m

58 CW QSOs on 20m, 11 CW QSOs on 17m

While my daughter took some skiing lessons I operated from somewhere near the ski lift.

On Wednesday the sky was already grey in the morning and snow started falling while I set up the antenna in a tree. The snow shower grew stronger within minutes after the first „CQ“, soon snow covered transceiver and log. After half an hour I had to QRT. Too much snow!

Snow started falling while setting up the 20m dipole.

On Thursday the weather was sunny and a bit colder. But condx seemed to be different: Only a few takers and endless loops of „CQ“. After an hour I switched to 17 metres but the situation was similar. So I packed my things and went QRT.

A huge beech tree supports the J- pole antenna.

Thanks to all who called and spotted me. It was lots of fun!
