Kornberg can be reached from Gruibingen. The car park (Aeussere Kornbergsteige) is hard to miss. There is a signpost (Bushaltestelle) „Kornbergsattel“ on the way to Gammelshausen.
Like many summits of the „Schwaebische Alb“, Kornberg is wooded but the top is free of trees. This makes it a very nice place to stay. However, there is no panoramic view from the top.
Luckily most of the clouds disappeared while climbing Kornberg and the temperature became more pleasant. I set up the station next to a tree and my antenna as inverted Vee.
This is a very nice and remote summit and I’ll most likely return next year.
