Wx: Sunny, approx. 12°C, few clouds
Walking time: 20 min. up, 12 min. down
Ascent/ descent: approx. 160 vertical metres

Rig: KX3 / 10W, 2.5Ah Li-Ion battery (4S), Palm Mini Paddle
Ant: 42 ft (12.8m) random wire as inverted Vee on a tree.

Conditions seemed to be good. The OK/OM contest caused some QRM on 20 CW and 40 CW.

3 CW QSOs on 60m
11 CW QSOs on 40m
6 SSB QSOs on 40m, 1 x S2S
13 CW QSOs on 30m, 1 x S2S
11 CW QSOs on 20m, 2 x S2S, 2 x DX
6 CW QSOs on 17m, 4 x DX

Highlights:
worked some NA- DX on 20m and 17m

Trans-Atlantic S2S QSO Party from DM/BW-110 – Limburg– 598m (2)

My second activation of Limburg – this time for the Trans-Atlantic S2S QSO Party.

Wx: Sunny, approx. 11°C, no clouds
Walking time: 25 min. up, 15 min. down
Ascent/ descent: approx. 200 vertical metres

Rig: KX3 / 10W, 2.5Ah Li-Ion battery (4S), Palm Mini Paddle
Ant: 42 ft (12.8m) random wire as inverted L on a 6m squid pole with a single radial

Conditions on the higher bands were very good. Even 15m was open to NA.  SFI = 94 (thanks to sunspot 2780 and 2781!) k = 0

2 SSB QSOs on 60m, 2 x S2S
17 CW QSOs on 20m, 5 x S2S (3 x NA)
20 CW QSOs on 17m, 12 x S2S (7 x NA)
1 CW QSO on 15m, 1 x S2S (1 x NA)

Highlights:
Worked 11 NA chasers, the farthest N6WT in CA
11 NA S2S QSOs, the farthest with WA7JTM on W7A/MN-154 in AZ

My first activation of Hohenstoffeln and Hohenhewen.

Wx: Sunny, partly cloudy, temp about 16°C.

Rig: KX3 / 10W, 2.5Ah Li-Ion battery (4S), Palm Mini Paddle
Ant: 22 m end fed wire with QRP L- Tuner set up as inverted L on a 6 metre squid pole.

Condx on all bands were good with little QSB and strong signals.
SFI = 72, k = 0

Hohenstoffeln DM/BW-085

QRV: 9:55 – 10:45 utc
Walking time: 30 min up, 20 min down.
Ascent/ descent: approx. 220 vertical metres

21 QSOs on 60 CW, 2 x S2S
22 QSOs on 40 CW, 4 x S2S

QRV: 13:00 – 14:00 utc
Walking time: 35 min up, 20 min down.
Ascent/ descent: approx. 290 vertical metres

6 QSOs on 30 CW
8 QSOs on 20 CW, 1 x DX (W3)

Highlights:
Nice activation of two interesting summits (volcanic rock).
Met DF4TD at the top of Hohenstoffeln.

My fourth activation of Römerstein.

Wx: Cloudy, temp about 14°C.
Walking time: 10 min up, 5 min down.
Ascent/ descent: approx. 60 vertical metres

Rig: KX3 / 10W, 2.5Ah Li-Ion battery (4S), Palm Mini Paddle
Ant: 22 m end fed wire with QRP L- Tuner set up as inverted L on a 6 metre squid pole.

Condx on all bands were poor with deep QSB and weak signals.
SFI = 73, k = 3

18 QSOs on 60 CW, 2 x S2S
13 QSOs on 40 CW, 3 x S2S
10 QSOs on 40 SSB, 3 x S2S
3 QSOs on 30 CW, 1 x S2S

Highlights:
Nice activation and a surprising number of S2S QSOs for a weekday.

Lowlight: The KX3 was almost destroyed because of excessive battery voltage.

SOTA Activity Day: Weiherkopf – DL/AL-111 – 1655m

September 19th, 2020, 7:30 – 13:10
My first activation of DL/AL-111 and my longest activation so far.

Wx: Sunny all day, few clouds, max. temp about 20°C.
Walking time: 15 min up, 50 min down.
Ascent/ descent: 150 vertical metres up, 750 vertical metres down. Gondola not used for descent.

Rig: KX3 / 10W, 7.2Ah AGM battery, Palm Mini Paddle
Ant: 22 m end fed wire with QRP L- Tuner set up as inverted Vee on a 6 metre squid pole.

Condx on all bands seemed to be average at best. Summer is over and it is no longer possible to reach UK on 20 metres. 30 metres and even 40 metres is the more reliable band now. k = 0, SFI = 70

102 QSOs, thereof 1 x DX (W4)
53 S2S-QSOs, 40 unique summits, thereof 1 x DX (UA9)

Highlights:
Great SOTA- party with an incredible number of activators QRV at the same time. It felt almost like a contest.

Five summit tour: DM/BW-235, BW-233, BW-193, BW-156 and BW-057

September 12th, 2020 – this was an attempt to activate as many 10-pointers as possible while making as many S2S- QSOs at the same time.
It was my first activation of DM/BW-235, BW- 233 and BW-193. My second activation of BW-157 and BW-057.
So far this has been my longest day trip with more than twelve hours on the road.

Wx: Sunny all day, max.Temp about 25°C.

Rig: KX3 / 10W, 2.9Ah AGM battery, Palm Mini Paddle
Ant: 22 m end fed wire with QRP L- Tuner set up as inverted Vee in different trees. Only on BW-193 as inverted L on a 6 metre squid pole.

Condx on all bands seemed to be average. k = 2, SFI = 69
